Wachusett Regional High School

Holden, MA

Serving as an independent sediment and erosion control consultant for the General Contractor and the Wachusett Regional High School District to aid in the construction of the multi-million dollar improvement project at the Wachusett Regional High School. The project involved the construction of over 40 acres of site work including driveways, parking areas, and numerous athletic fields. The site discharges to a DEP and DCR regulated Outstanding Resource Water and contains vast areas of open space and steep slopes. Our duties and services included the following:

• Prepared a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for the site including a detailed narrative of the site, sequence of remaining construction, and standard details for sediment and erosion control measures.

• Performed daily site visits to monitor the site construction activities and the effectiveness of the contractor’s systems for sediment and erosion control. When necessary, GEI recommended additional sediment and erosion control measures to improve site stability and runoff water quality.

• Performed hydrology calculations to design and properly size temporary sedimentation basins. Our services included working closely with DEP and DCR officials to maintain the quality of site discharge storm water within regulated limits.
