O'Connors Restaurant
GEI has performed several projects for O’Connors Restaurant over the years, mostly dealing with parking for the very popular restaurant. This description details this parking lot work. GEI was retained to provide topographic survey, design, and permitting for two parking lot projects in 2001 and 2006. The projects included the following:
• 2001: Conduct a survey and prepare design drawings for the existing site and vacant abutting land for the purpose of a new 87-space parking lot to service the growing business. This parking lot doubles the capacity of the existing lot and was laid out to be integrated with the existing lot. This project incorporated new drainage and stormwater management devices to meet compliance with Mass DEP as well as lighting. GEI also performed permitting services for project approval through the City of Worcester Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and Mass DEP (Notice of Intent).
• 2006: Prepare design drawings for modifications to the existing entrance curb cut of the parking lot to streamline site access and a minor building expansion. Site access is on a State Highway (Route 12) thus permitting through Mass Highway was required. GEI also performed permitting through the Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals for expansion of an existing non-conforming use.
