North Brookfield Police Department

North Brookfield, MA

The Town of North Brookfield desired to construct a new police facility on a piece of property the Town acquired via tax title. The existing police facility building was in disrepair such that the police department had to move into temporary quarters. The tax title parcel is the site of an abandoned asbestos factory. The site is contaminated with asbestos. The Client retained GEI to provide design services, permitting, construction administration and periodic inspection services. The project included the following:

• Design of site utilities including fire and domestic water services, sanitary sewer, and drainage. Design site layout, grading, and sediment & erosion control.
• Coordinated site grading and construction details with the Town’s Licensed Site Professional concerning working with the asbestos laden soils.
• Permit the project through the Town of North Brookfield Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board.
• Prepare a SWPPP for the project.
