Holden Public Safety

Holden, MA

The redevelopment of an existing fire station site for a new public safety building to house both the police and fire departments. GEI was retained to provide topographic survey, design, permitting and construction administration services. The project included the following:

• Prepared design drawings for the full redevelopment of the site including drainage and stormwater management, water, sewer and gas utilities.

• Permit the project through the Town of Holden, DCR and DEP for a sewer connection permit for a sewage pump station connecting to the DCR sewer trunk line.

• Permit the project through DCR for a Watershed Protection Act variance.

• Permit the project through Mass Highway for an Access Permit and assist architect with permitting for a Signal Permit.

• Perform fire flow testing at the site for the Mechanical Engineer’s use relative to the sprinkler design.

• Prepare a SWPPP for the site and permit through DEP for discharges to Outstanding Resource Waters.

• Provide construction administration services such as site inspections, shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, etc.
