GEI was retained by Builders Systems, Inc. to perform construction stakeout of dozens of helical piles designed by others to support the foundation of a building expansion. The project included the following:

• Establish horizontal and vertical survey control.

• Review structural plans and CAD drawings for helical pile layout; GEI identified an error that may have resulted in structural steel problems if not recognized before construction. The problem was corrected based on our input.

• Perform construction stakeout of the helical piles.

• Coordinate stakeout with the helical pile contractor to maximize installation efficiency.

• Mark helical pile cut-off elevation on each pile stem to coordinate with foundation design elevations.
